Agreed. It confuses peoples vote when rating on a wrong questionable video. They should learn how to use the rating system.
@Platzsoldier I don't rule out that some people do it on purpose to reach a wider audience thinking to get away with it, ignoring that certain content can affect a minor's mental development. Rating rules are not hard to grasp and if you are uncertain about the rating you can always ask in a forum thread (Where is/How to/Help forum section) and people will gladly help. If you are too shy to ask go for the highest rating just to play safe.

Forgot to add that I tend to give low rating if someone dares to misrate their submissions especially for games and movies.

I noticed these misrating always happen with sexual NSFW, there is a pattern and if I notice it, regardless of the story (spoiler: there is not plot in those types of videos most of the time, a good 99,9%) or the animation level, you get an extremely low rating depending on my mood and the severity of the misrate. If you rate E something that is blatantly NSFW in order to get traction and views and the subject is questionable at bet 0 rate is the way I go.
If it's something mild but still misrated, 1 star because like Ancient Romans said: ignorantia legis neminem excusat ("ignorance of law excuses no one"). And in a digital era like this one you have all the tools to find how a site works and which are its ToS.

@nihilist-icecream I see you've had difficulties with choosing the proper age ratings before ( https://nihilist-icecream.newgrounds.com/news/post/1515471 ). At some point the moderation team might decide that they tire of your shenanigans. I could give you the dead urls of 2 or 3 accounts that have been deleted over constantly rating stuff "M" that should have been rated "A".
This isn't a game... If too much stuff that should have been rated "A" isn't age gated properly, the hammer of the US law will hit NG and the site will shut down forever. Your stuff? Gone. Your favorites? Gone. NG-friends? 'Did you exchange emails...?'
Is that enough incentive for you?

Well, it looks like for some strange reason you decided to take a look at my account. Regarding the problem you state, I am already aware of that, I have even investigated about the age rating and I have put my hands on the matter, long before you wrote this comment. Recently I have modified my publications to conform to the platform's regulations, I admit that this problem arose from a confusion and misunderstanding I had with the platform, however I took the initiative to improve the age rating and emphasize the target audience to be reached with such works (In case you think innocently that I do not take this seriously).
I don't really have any problem with the current moderation about “explicit” posts, and I have already clarified this in a post. They are simply beginner's details that can be polished in the future.
In spite of all this, there is still something I cannot understand...

Now if I understand, I completely disagree, I thought this discussion was about beta works that are published in newgrounds (ie simple practice animations, like the ones I often do). I didn't understand the message of the post xd.

I mean no offense to the author of the submission, I normally don't mind about B/P points or my stats in general, nor I don't mind to cut some slack to beginner content creators and give them opportunities to show off what they have for offering - but I think that I can talk for everyone to say that this is absurd.

Wow 5 test videos passed In a row. And I agree. But this madness combat video I reviewed must be a glitch, it got removed and he put it back making the system think it got passed judgment. Im not sure it’s flaggable as the guidelines said: “Your submission must not be a pointless "demo" or "preview" without any redeeming qualities.“

BTW, in the early days of NG, it was much easier to get blams than saves.
I See, back in the old days I bet they blammed a minute stickman videos and boring comedy with no punchline. Now today they saved a one second high quality A rated video and b&w WIP videos.

People on NG back then were brutal. You could get around 80-100 blams a day, and I even saw many tests with good animation get blammed.
Wow. Now I’m jealous. Usually I’m only getting like 8 or 12 blams per day to be honest. So keep up the duty work.
